chapter of the 550,000 member National Audubon Society. Founded in
Bedford, New York on February 13, 1913 , today BAS services much of
northern Westchester and Putnam Counties in southeastern New York.
It is this organization's mission to promote environmental education,
grass-roots activism, public and private conservation efforts,
preservation and protection of open space.
Lewisboro Land Trust

Funds raised in Lewisboro are used by the Westchester Land Trust for land preservation projects in our town (e.g. the Houlihan property). To date, the total number of acres preserved in Lewisboro by the land trust is 300.
